The Liminary Finishing School (LFS) is for revolutionaries who sniff the wind and lust for dirt,
who hear the hoof-steps of great change pounding towards us all.

The Liminary Finishing School is for cultured bodies that know Earth’s intelligences still and always reign:
that chaos, destruction, and uncertainty are within the fertile rhythms, as long as the dance continues.

The Liminary Finishing School is training in Compassionate Self-Possession and Integral Poise
amidst the heaves and yanks of modern ‘civilization’ rattling clear out of its story-bones.

The Liminary Finishing School is Mystery Work for wombyn re-sounding the depths of Feminine Field Power,
whose bones know the ways and wisdoms of wholeness beneath these tropes of separation.

CULTIVATED PRACTICES + POWERS OF THE LIMINARY FINISHING SCHOOL

Depth Presence — the breathing presence you are, when you know that everything is alive and dying at the very same time, and that there has never been anything else like the specific moment that is here. And here. And here.

Field/Relational/Resonant Power — the mysterious, earth-shimmering power of a cultured collective, together attuned to what is true and real beneath ideas of right + wrong, illusion + ideal.

Integral Poise — relational refinement of radically honest expression, honed towards compassionate self-possession, unshakeable dignity, and strategic flexibility.

Center Expansion — the practice of broadening and deepening the centers of our being, so we can respond with agility and still be on center.

Emergent Origination — listening to and moving from the source of all things for what comes to live now, as artists, visionaries, animals, priestesses.

The Liminary Finishing School is a training in radical poise in the heave and yank of modern civilization rattling out of its story-bones.
You will leave this training with a deeper sense of your power as an animal, an ecosystem, and an activist.
The breath, the body, and the organs within are our first tools, terrains, and temples.
We practice expanding our centers while remaining in connection with others, finding complex forms of alignment, and moving from honest and inspired desire.
We prepare ourselves for the gods to move through.
We supplant domesticated interpretive lenses with wild, animist, and alchemical ones.
We cultivate the living field of our many intelligences, combining into something specific and irreplicable in any other context.
We midwife the passing of the dry husks of plasticized culture into the living ripeness of conscious, erotic life force.
We refine the apertures of our expression + the accuracy of our determinations.
We become, together, an ecology of cultured power, a great wave, a spanda for greater movements.
This is for those who smell the wind and lust for dirt, who hear the hoof steps of great change pounding towards us all. This is for those who know the choral resonances of shared womb song. This is for those who want to help midwife the passing of the dry husks of plasticized culture into the living ripeness of conscious life force.
This is for people raised and socialized as women in a culture in which that means something pretty specific and pretty stultifying. We send all love and respect to folks who transition or flow around gender who may not count themselves in that group, and pray that you find all the opportunities you seek. We meet twice a week for 3 hours each in person in Boulder, Colorado. One of the week’s meetings is dedicated to the replacement of domesticated interpretive lenses with wild, animist, and alchemical ones. This meeting will include some lecture, discussions, exercises, and some embodied practice, including dance and elemental yoga.
The other weekly meeting is dedicated to cultivating the living field of our intelligences as they combine into something specific to those present, the energies and events of the time, and the open edges of our wonder. These days will also have more of the embodied and relational practices.
We will have a five-day wilderness sojourn not too far from Boulder in which we practice natural skills — listening, shelter-building, foraging, cooking, and story- and song-catching.
We are also in the listening around a a plant medicine ceremony for the School.
This is a treasure trove of awakening arts.
This is still being determined as we find out how many people want to participate. It seems likely we will create an opportunity for people to choose whether they will participate in the wilderness sojourn and medicine ceremony. There will also be options for work-trade, and I almost always use a sliding scale depending on the position of the would-be participant.

“LIMINARY”

Blending the words and meanings of “luminary” and “liminality,” a “liminary” describes a dynamic and clever waymaker in transitional, in-between spaces, embodying both the innocent brilliance of light and the strange subtlety of examined darkness. The Liminary Leader stands at the crossroads of profound transformation — in self, relationship, civilization, reality. She casts merciful radiance upon the dissolving boundaries between what was and what is yet to be, guiding sight, sound, and story through the dappled realms of possibility and complexity towards engaged awe, relational rapture, and a revolution of the sacred.

For reference, “luminary” denotes a person who inspires or influences others, often in a particular field or domain. It may also refer to a celestial body that emits light, such as the moon or a star. In a figurative sense, a luminary is someone who shines brightly in their field, guiding or illuminating the path for others through their knowledge, expertise, or achievements.

"Liminality” refers to the quality or state of being in-between or at the threshold of two different stages, conditions, or states of being. It originates from the Latin word "limen," which means "threshold." Liminality dilates the space between certainties, describeing the ambivalence of this aperture between states – it is neither, nor any definite way of being and there is no proximal “almost.” The liminal phase does not resemble the previous nor the coming way of being; rather, it describes the potentiality of that indefiniteness, as identities, social roles, and fabrics of reality renegotiate with the unseen.
